Friday 11th October

Dear Parents and Carers,

A warm welcome to Mrs Owens in team 2 who has made a great start at Sigglesthorne.  The classroom is a hive of activity and the children are enjoying their learning.

Our topic of mega-structures is proving to be very exciting.  I have been impressed by the work of the children; particularly their Geographical knowledge which the children have really relished the opportunity to share with me.

We look forward to welcoming you to our upcoming events.  Please see our dates for diary.

Kind regards

Mrs S Hall and Mrs J Grant

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

A huge thank you for all of the donations for the coffee afternoon and our helpers that assisted in making it a great success.  This is a charity that is close to many of our hearts, so it was wonderful to see it so well supported.  We raised a grand total of£110.00.

Harvest

A huge thank you for the generous donations at our harvest.  A total of 10 bulging bags were collected by the food bank.  They wanted to share their gratitude with you all and it was touching to hear how much of a difference this will make.

Parent Drop In

On Monday the 21st of October we will be opening the classroom doors and inviting you to come in to the classrooms and look at your child’s learning.  This is a lovely opportunity to spend time in your child’s learning environment and to share in what they have discovered so far this term.

Reading is our priority

We have been conducting a review of reading in school and have had a wonderful time speaking to children to find out all the wonderful stories they love to read.  As a staff team we have built on these conversations and are keen to promote and support the children’s love of books by developing our library.  We are asking for any volunteers who are available to help us to reorganise and stock our library on Friday 18th October at 1.30pm, please inform the office or Mrs Owens if you are able to help.  In addition to developing our library we have purchased brand new home reading books that are on their way!  Mrs Owens will run a parent workshop for reading to explain and share our exciting developments later in the term.
