Newsletter – June 2019

Welcome

We would like to say a big welcome to Georgie who joined us last week. We hope that her and her family enjoy their time at Sigglesthorne.

Mrs Wrightson

We welcome Mrs Wrightson back in week commencing 24 th June. She will be sharing the Foundation Stage class with Miss Marson until the end of term. Miss Marson will be working Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Wrightson will be working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Urgent request

It would be fabulous if you could offer a few hours to help at the Summer fair on Thursday 27th June.

The PTFA are doing a fabulous job this year providing lots of fun events and opportunities for us to raise money for the school but they rely on the good-will and support of parents to staff the events.

The Summer fair is the biggest event we hold and your help would really be appreciated. The more volunteers we have the more we can cover each other and maybe not be behind a stall for the whole fair.

We welcome grandmas, grandpas, aunties, uncles and any other adult who would like to volunteer.

Please see Mrs Conlon if you can offer a bit of time.

Donations of buns

If anyone is able to donate buns for the Summer fair they can be brought into school on the morning of Thursday 27th June. The more donations the better.

Foundation stage open morning

On Thursday 27th June we are holding an open morning for children who are eligible to start nursery or school in the next academic year. If you know of anyone with a child who will be 3 or 4 in the next academic year, please share this information.

SATS and testing

All of the SATS have now taken place and the children in Year 2 and 6 were a credit to themselves and the school. The results of the Year 6 tests will be back with us in early July. The results of the test for year 2 and 6 will be published with the reports.

Parent Hub

As of the 20 th June we will no longer be using a text messaging. All messages will be sent via Parent Hub which is a free app that helps us keep you up to date with what is happening at school.

Instructions
1. Download the Parent Hub app from your app store (iPhone or Android).
2. Create an account.
3. Choose “Add a School” and enter the school handle – @SiggsCEPrimary

Wake up and Shake up

Wake up and Shake up has been extremely successful. We have had on average 40 children attending the sessions which run Tuesday to Thursday. We plan to continue this into this term and look forward to seeing all of the children there from 8.40am.
