It was good to welcome the children on Monday and listen to their wonderful Christmas stories. We welcome Ruby and Tegan who have joined us this term. We hope they will be very happy as part of our school family.
On the website, you can find a curriculum overview term by term of what your child will be studying and learning about.
We will send a curriculum newsletter giving general information and a more detailed breakdown of the learning taking place in the classroom, which will be distributed in the near future.
Our Christian value for this half term is Perseverance and will be the focus for our daily worship. This is one of our school’s core values that the children decided on last year. We hope to build on the children’s understanding of perseverance and Rev Mo and Rev Andy will continue to help us with this each week during their collective worships.
We are very excited to confirm that Dance club will continue on a Monday and is free for any child that wishes to take part. There are places available, so if you would like a place please see Mrs Conlon. Due to this being funded we do as that the children commit to the full half term.
Drama club will continue to run on a Tuesday evening after school and is open to children in years 3,4,5 and 6. This has a small charge of £2.50. Can parents also ensure that their child is collected at 4.30 after this session as our after school club does not have the capacity to look after the Drama club children until 5 pm.
The sports club is on a Friday afternoon and runs from 3.30 to 4.30. Again this is funded and is free to all children. Please book with Mrs Conlon for a place for this half term.
Both breakfast club and after-school club are becoming increasingly busy, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
As you are aware attendance is key to the children achieving well and we thank you for your continued support with this.
We have been celebrating Year Group attendance on a weekly basis and recording those year groups with 100% each week. You may have seen the display in the hall.
We have tallied the weeks up for the Autumn Term and are pleased to announce that Year 6 was our ‘winners’. Who will take the title for the Spring term?
Please ensure your child has all their uniform labelled, as it makes it easy to return lost property and helps after changing for PE, especially for the younger children.
Uniform continues to be available for you to order from the website and can be delivered free to the school or your home at an additional cost. Please see our website for details.
Can we please ask that contact details are kept up to date and if you change your mobile telephone number that you inform the office.
A special thank you to the PTFA for funding the pantomime trip in December and buying the ice cream! The children had a fabulous time. The PTFA work extremely hard every year to raise money to give back to the children and have been especially successful over the last few years.
They are always looking for and are keen to welcome new members, so do come along and support your school and find out about the work of the PTFA and how it has a positive impact on your child’s school life.
